Mime Show on World Tuberculosis Day 2025 | BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi
On March 25, 2025, third-semester B.Sc. Nursing students of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, conducted a tuberculosis awareness mime show at the OPD of Taluka Hospital, Jamkhandi, in observance of World Tuberculosis Day. The program was coordinated by Ms. Savitri J, UG Nursing Tutor, under the guidance of Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, Principal.
Program Overview & Welcome Speech
The event commenced with a welcome speech by Mr. Rakesh Patil, a 3rd semester student, who introduced the theme for World Tuberculosis Day 2025 and highlighted the significance of raising awareness about tuberculosis and its impact on global health.
Held at the Outpatient Department (OPD) of Taluka Hospital, Jamkhandi, the program aimed to reach patients and their attendants with critical health messages in a creative and impactful format.


Mime Performance
Following the welcome address, the students performed a mime that depicted the causes, signs, symptoms, and methods of prevention and control of tuberculosis. The performance was crafted to be both informative and engaging, using silent expression and gestures to deliver the message effectively to a diverse audience.

The performance was organised around key tuberculosis awareness themes, with students carrying placards highlighting Prevention, Awareness, and Transmission — reinforcing the educational messages in Kannada and English for the local audience.



Audience Response & Group Photo
Over 25 patients and their relatives attended the event and responded positively to the performance. Many appreciated the mime for its informative and entertaining nature, which effectively conveyed messages about tuberculosis prevention and awareness.
The event concluded with a group photo bringing together the student performers, faculty coordinator, and audience members — marking a successful effort in community health education at a public health facility.
