Department Overview

The Department of Community Health Nursing trains students to assess families and communities, provide health education, and refer individuals for care. It actively participates in National Health Days, community camps, and health programs, helping students develop critical thinking, communication, and practical nursing skills.

  • To inculcate professional excellence among nursing students by promoting a holistic approach to Community Health Nursing and strengthening preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative healthcare services.

  • To provide quality education in Community Health Nursing, ensuring students are well prepared to meet community health needs and public health challenges.
  • To empower nursing students through holistic healthcare training, research motivation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and leadership development to serve communities effectively.

Objectives

The objectives of the Department of Community Health Nursing at BLDEAS College of Nursing, Jamkhandi are to:

  • Prepare students to become knowledgeable, skilled, and competent community health nurses.
  • Foster compassion, cultural sensitivity, and ethical practice in community nursing.
  • Promote active community engagement through health education, awareness programs, and outreach activities.
  • Encourage research orientation and utilization of evidence-based practices in community health.
  • Develop leadership and advocacy skills to address health disparities and promote positive health outcomes.
  • Strengthen preventive and promotive healthcare competencies among nursing students.
  • Equip students to plan, implement, and evaluate community-based health programs effectively.

Laboratory Facilities

The Community Health Nursing Laboratory provides hands-on training using charts, models, dummies, community kits, and teaching–learning resources related to national health programs. The laboratory enhances students’ skills in health education, home visits, family health assessment, and essential community nursing procedures.
