PRECLINICAL SCIENCE LAB
Lab Overview
The Preclinical Science Lab provides foundational knowledge in human anatomy, physiology, and microbiology, forming the scientific base for nursing practice. It enables students to understand body systems, tissues, and microorganisms before clinical exposure.
Vision
- To develop nursing students’ scientific understanding and analytical skills, fostering competence in foundational biomedical sciences essential for professional nursing practice.
Mission
- To provide a hands-on learning environment for mastering anatomy, physiology, and microbiology concepts.
- To integrate foundational science knowledge into clinical nursing practice, enhancing patient care.
- To promote critical thinking, observation, and analytical skills in understanding the human body and disease processes.
Objectives
The objectives of the Preclinical Science Lab are to:
- Facilitate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and microbiology concepts relevant to nursing.
- Develop practical skills in using models, specimens, microscopes, and slides.
- Enable students to identify body systems, tissues, and microorganisms accurately.
- Promote application of preclinical knowledge in safe and effective nursing practice.
- Enhance observation, analytical, and critical thinking skills necessary for clinical decision-making.
- Prepare students for advanced nursing education and research in health sciences.
Laboratory Facilities
The Preclinical Science Lab is equipped with models, preserved specimens, charts, microscopes, and slides, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in the structure and function of body systems, tissues, and microorganisms.
