NURSING FOUNDATION LAB
Department / Lab Overview
The Nursing Foundation Lab provides a simulated hospital environment where students practice fundamental nursing procedures using mannequins and models under faculty supervision. The lab helps students reduce anxiety, build confidence, and develop essential psychomotor skills before entering real clinical settings.

Objectives
The objectives of the Nursing Foundation Lab are to:
- Enable students to acquire essential fundamental nursing skills in a simulated clinical setting.
- Develop psychomotor skills required for safe and effective patient care.
- Build students’ confidence and reduce anxiety before clinical exposure.
- Promote adherence to standard operating procedures and infection control practices.
- Enhance critical thinking and decision-making during nursing procedures.
- Prepare students to deliver ethical, safe, and patient-centered nursing care.
Laboratory Facilities
The Nursing Foundation Lab is well equipped with patient beds, mannequins, procedure trays, CPR dummies, wheelchairs, stretchers, and essential critical care equipment such as oxygen cylinders and suction apparatus. The lab also includes adult male and female manikins and a hand dummy for intravenous cannulation training. The facilities meet INC standards and support comprehensive nursing skill development.
