Workshop on "Transforming Teaching: Classroom Outcomes through Cognitive Levels and Innovative Strategies" – BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi

BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, successfully organized a one-day workshop on "Transforming Teaching: Classroom Outcomes through Cognitive Levels and Innovative Strategies" on Saturday, October 4, 2025, aimed at enhancing teaching skills among nursing staff, BBA College staff, and sixth-semester nursing students.

Inaugural Programme

The programme began with a warm welcome by Mrs. Akshata Aralimati and Ms. Pooja Hosakoti (UG Nursing Tutors), followed by the National Song "Vande Mataram" and a prayer led by Ms. Usha Pujari and Ms. Kaveri Pujari (Sixth Semester Students). Mrs. Rajeshwari Kambi (Assistant Professor) delivered the welcome address, and the dignitaries were felicitated. The ceremonial lamp lighting marked the formal inauguration of the workshop.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Jyoti Pattanshetti, Assistant Professor & Research Supervisor, BLDEA's J.S.S. College of Education, P.G. Studies in Education and Research Centre, Vijayapura, highlighted the importance of innovative teaching strategies for improving classroom learning outcomes.

Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli, Principal of the college, presided over the event and delivered the presidential address, encouraging participants to implement the knowledge gained in their teaching practices to foster effective learning and critical thinking among students. Resource persons were introduced by Mrs. Shivaleela Sarawad (Assistant Professor) and Ms. Savitri Jambagi (UG Nursing Tutor).

Technical Sessions

  1. Domain & Taxonomy of Objectives — conducted by Dr. Jyoti Pattanshetti, covering Bloom's Taxonomy and aligning teaching with cognitive levels. She also facilitated a group activity to deepen understanding and application of taxonomic principles.
  2. Teaching Plan & Group Activity — presented by Prof. L.M. Markapanali, Associate Professor, BLDEA's College of Education, Jamkhandi. He elaborated on designing effective teaching plans, incorporating group activities, and ensuring interactive learning in the classroom.
  3. Transaction of Course & Course Outcome — by Dr. Jyoti Pattanshetti, on linking course content to outcomes and evaluation to ensure coherent curriculum delivery.

Felicitation, Certificate Distribution & Valedictory

Certificates and mementos were presented to the resource persons by Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Akshata Aralimati.

The valedictory session was coordinated by Ms. Jyoti Mareguddi and Ms. Akshata Aralimati, with tokens of appreciation presented to dignitaries. Prof. L.M. Markapanali praised the workshop, while Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli urged participants to implement the learned strategies in their teaching. Certificates were distributed to all staff and students, and the session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Shashikala Mudhol.

The workshop was successfully led by Principal Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli and coordinated by Mrs. Rajeshwari Kambi, with the wholehearted support of the nursing faculty team.
