BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, successfully organized a one-day workshop on "Digital Literacy for Health Care" on 10th November 2025 for Second Semester B.Sc. Nursing students and staff.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Ankita and Ms. Deepa (Second Semester Students), followed by the National Song "Vande Mataram" and a prayer led by Ms. Shruti Raiyakar (Sixth Semester Student). Ms. Jyoti Mareguddi (UG Tutor) delivered the welcome address, and the dignitaries were felicitated by the faculty members. The ceremonial lamp lighting marked the formal inauguration of the workshop.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Basavaraj K. Galagali, Associate Professor, BLDEA's Commerce, BHS Arts & TGP Science College, Jamkhandi, highlighted the significance of digital literacy in healthcare, emphasizing how technology enhances efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making in clinical practice.

Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, Principal of BLDEA's College of Nursing, presided over the event and delivered the presidential address, encouraging participants to utilize digital tools effectively to improve the quality of healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.

The resource persons were introduced by Ms. Shashikala Mudhol and Ms. Akshata Aralimatti (UG Tutors).

1. Health Informatics and the Role of Digital Data in Decision-Making — conducted by Mr. Basavaraj K. Galagali, Associate Professor, BLDEA's Commerce, BHS Arts & TGP Science College, Jamkhandi. He explained how digital data supports evidence-based decisions, record-keeping, and healthcare management. A group activity was also conducted to enhance understanding.
2. Electronic Health Services — presented by Mr. Santosh Umadi, Assistant Professor, BLDEA's Commerce, BHS Arts & TGP Science College, Jamkhandi. He elaborated on various aspects of e-health, telemedicine, and the importance of digital tools in patient care and hospital administration.

Certificates and mementos were presented to the resource persons by Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Kamala D.

The valedictory session was coordinated by Ms. Ankita and Ms. Deepa (Second Semester Students). Tokens of appreciation were presented to the dignitaries. Mr. Santosh Umadi, Chief Guest and Resource Person, appreciated the efforts of the organizers and the enthusiasm of the participants. Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli encouraged students and staff to implement the knowledge gained in their academic and clinical activities. Certificates were distributed to all participants.

The workshop concluded successfully under the guidance and leadership of Principal Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, coordinated by Ms. Jyoti Mareguddi, with the wholehearted support of the nursing faculty team.
