On August 7, 2024, as part of World Breastfeeding Week 2024, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, organized a Poster Competition for nursing students on the theme "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All". A total of 12 students participated, showcasing their creativity and understanding of breastfeeding awareness through hand-drawn educational posters.

The competition was inaugurated by Dr. H. G. Daddi, Cardiologist at Daddi Hospital, Jamkhandi, and Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, Principal of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi. In his inaugural address, Dr. H. G. Daddi emphasized the significance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both mothers and babies, encouraging students to use their artistic skills to spread awareness.

The posters were evaluated by Dr. H. G. Daddi and Ms. Kavita Dindawar, Assistant Professor at BLDEA'S Pharmacy College, Jamkhandi. The judges assessed the entries based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall presentation. The students demonstrated remarkable understanding of breastfeeding concepts through diverse and insightful artistic interpretations, covering topics such as breastfeeding positions, benefits of breast milk, Kangaroo Mother Care, and nutritional support for lactating mothers.

Following the judging, the results were announced and certificates were distributed to the winners by Dr. H. G. Daddi. The First Prize was shared between Ms. Bhagyashree K. and Ms. Radhika K. from B.Sc. Second Year. The Second Prize was shared between Ms. Swati and Ms. Varsha from B.Sc. Second Semester.

Principal Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli congratulated all the winners and participants for their effort, hard work, and excellent performance. The competition was coordinated by Mrs. Shivaleela Sarawad, Assistant Professor at BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, under the guidance of the Principal, ensuring its smooth execution and successful completion.
