Lamp Lighting & Oath Taking Ceremony – 2025 | BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi
BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, organized the Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony for the 4th Batch of B.Sc. Nursing students on October 25, 2025, marking their formal induction into the noble nursing profession.
Ceremony Overview
The programme commenced with a Prayer Dance performed by Ms. Dannama Pawale, a 4th Year B.Sc. Nursing student, followed by a Welcome Address and Guest Introduction by Mrs. Shivaleela S. Sarawad and Mrs. Rajeshwari Kambi, Assistant Professors.
The ceremonial lamp lighting was conducted by the Inaugurator, Dr. Raveendra Madraki; the Chief Guest, Dr. Sphurti Tungal; the President of the Function, Prof. S. H. Lagali, Administrative Officer, BLDE Association, Jamkhandi; and the Principal, Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli.



Oath Taking Ceremony
The 4th Batch of 1st Year B.Sc. Nursing students lit their lamps from the Nursing leaders and UG faculty members Ms. Jyothi Mareguddi and Ms. Kamala D., followed by the Oath Taking Ceremony administered by Mrs. Shivaleela S. Sarawad, Assistant Professor, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi. The students repeated the oath after her with great devotion.
Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, Principal, presented the College Report for the academic year 2023–2024. The esteemed guests then presented certificates and mementos to the toppers from I & II, III, IV Semester, and III Year B.Sc. Nursing students in recognition of their outstanding performance.



Addresses by Dignitaries
Dr. Raveendra Madraki, Chairman and Chief Nephrologist, Yashoda Institute of Medical Sciences, Vijayapura, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance of the nursing profession and highlighted that nurses are the heart of the healthcare system. He inspired the students to serve with dedication, empathy, and humanity.
Dr. Sphurti Tungal, Consultant Gynaecologist, Tungal Nursing Home, Jamkhandi, stated that knowledge, skill, empathy, and sympathy are essential qualities of a good nurse. She motivated the students to actively participate in clinical experiences to provide quality patient care.
Prof. S. H. Lagali, Administrative Officer, BLDE Association, Jamkhandi, congratulated the students and appreciated the Principal and faculty for their continuous efforts toward the growth and excellence of the institution.
The Annual College Magazine, "Nightingale Chronicles" (Vol. 3, 2023–2024), was also inaugurated by the dignitaries during the programme. University-level achievers in Kabaddi, Ball Badminton, and Cross Country were honoured with tokens of appreciation for representing RGUHS. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Shashikala Mudhol, UG Nursing Tutor.
