Field Visit to KMF Dempo Milk Dairy, Asangi 2026
On 13th April 2026, the 5th Semester B.Sc. Nursing students of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, visited the KMF Dempo Milk Dairy at Asangi as part of their academic curriculum, gaining practical insight into industrial food safety, hygiene, and dairy operations.
About the Visit
Mrs. Laxmi K., Chemist of the dairy, provided a comprehensive briefing covering the following key areas:
- Milk collection and procurement process
- Pasteurization and processing of milk
- Quality control and testing methods to ensure safety and purity
- Packaging and storage techniques
- Distribution system of milk and milk products
- Importance of hygiene and sanitation in the dairy industry


Hygienic Practices & Worker Welfare
Mrs. Laxmi K. further highlighted the exemplary occupational health standards maintained at the dairy, including:
- Regular health check-ups for all workers
- Availability of insurance facilities for employees
- Good working conditions ensuring worker welfare and safety
A total of 28 students participated in the visit, accompanied by Mr. Mahendrakumar, PG Nursing Tutor, and Mrs. Samarin Awati, UG Nursing Tutor.
