International Nurses Day 2026
BLDE Association's College of Nursing, Jamkhandi celebrated International Nurses Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and dignity on 12th May 2026 at the college seminar hall, honouring the selfless service, dedication, and commitment of nurses towards society and healthcare under the theme "Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives."
Opening & Inauguration
The celebration commenced with an invocation prayer song by Ms. Usha Pujari and Ms. Kaveri Pujari, 7th Semester students. Principal Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and guests, and highlighted the significance of International Nurses Day and the 2026 theme. The formal inauguration was marked by the lighting of the traditional lamp by the dignitaries.


Cake Cutting & Celebrations
A beautifully crafted Florence Nightingale tribute cake — honouring her legacy as the pioneer of modern nursing — was cut by the dignitaries as part of the celebration, symbolising the nursing community's gratitude and pride.



Speeches & Addresses
- Chief Guest, Dr. Mahesh G. Patil, MBBS, DCH, Consultant Pediatrician, Dhanvantri Multispeciality Hospital, Jamkhandi, addressed the gathering and appreciated the dedicated and noble services rendered by nurses in strengthening healthcare services.
- President of the Function, Prof. S. H. Lagali, Administrative Officer, BLDE Association, Jamkhandi, appreciated the contribution of nurses and encouraged students to serve humanity with commitment and compassion.




Felicitation of Senior Nursing Officers
On the occasion, senior nursing officers Mrs. Akkamma Devadiga and Mrs. Shreedevi Hulihal of Govt. Hospital, Jamkhandi, were felicitated for their dedicated service in the healthcare sector. Their commitment and contribution to nursing were recognised and celebrated in the presence of dignitaries, faculty, and students.

Prize Distribution
Prize distribution for various competitions organised as part of International Nurses Day celebrations was carried out by the dignitaries. Faculty members, students, and guests enthusiastically participated in the prize distribution ceremony.



Conclusion & Group Photo
The Master of Ceremony was conducted by Ms. Vandhana Chikkaraddi (7th Semester) and Ms. Varsha (5th Semester). The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Shifa (1st Semester). The programme concluded with the National Anthem, bringing together all awardees, dignitaries, faculty, and students in a memorable group photograph.
