Guest Lecture on "Building Resilience: Strategies for Suicide Prevention and Stress Management" 2024 | BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi
On September 21, 2024, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, organized a Guest Lecture on "Building Resilience: Strategies for Suicide Prevention and Stress Management" at its Seminar Hall at 12:00 PM. Mr. Prashant Bevoor, Psychiatric Registered Nursing Officer at DIMHANS, Dharwad, delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on mental health resilience to 92 students and faculty members.
Inauguration & Opening Session
The program began with a warm welcome and introduction of the guest speaker by Mrs. Rajeshwari Kambi, PG Nursing Faculty, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi. Following this, the session was officially inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing enlightenment and knowledge.
Mr. Prashant Bevoor, Psychiatric Registered Nursing Officer at DIMHANS, Dharwad, delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on suicide prevention and stress management. He shared valuable strategies emphasizing early identification of warning signs and the adoption of practical coping mechanisms to handle stress. His talk highlighted the significance of building mental resilience, both personally and professionally, especially for those in the healthcare sector who are often faced with high-stress environments.




Interactive Session & Closing Ceremony
The lecture was followed by an interactive question and answer session, during which students actively engaged with Mr. Bevoor, seeking further clarity on mental health topics. The session was attended by 92 students and faculty members, who found the lecture highly informative and beneficial. The insights shared were well-received, with participants appreciating the practical applications of the strategies discussed.
After the lecture, Mr. Prashant Bevoor was honored with a token of gratitude, including a memento and a certificate of appreciation, presented by the Principal, Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli. In his presidential speech, Dr. Mendagudli emphasized the importance of offering support to those struggling with mental health issues, reminding the audience that their care and attention could make a significant difference in someone's life.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Somesh Nikkam, PG Nursing Tutor. The event was coordinated smoothly by Mr. Somesh Nikkam under the guidance of Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, Principal, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi.
