BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, organized a guest lecture on "Blood Cancer: Challenges, Prevention & Nursing Responsibilities" on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, featuring renowned haematologist Dr. Sangam Hebballi from the United Kingdom.

Inaugural Programme

The programme began with a welcome address by Mrs. Rajeshwari Kambi, Assistant Professor, and the introduction of the guest speaker by Mrs. Shivaleela Sarwad, Assistant Professor. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment.

The session was graced by Dr. Sangam Hebballi, Consultant Haematologist, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, United Kingdom.

Guest Lecture on Blood Cancer

Dr. Hebballi delivered an informative and engaging talk highlighting the causes, prevention, and nursing responsibilities in blood cancer management. She emphasized the importance of early detection and compassionate care by nurses in improving patient outcomes.

The lecture covered key aspects of haematological oncology, equipping nursing students with a deeper understanding of blood cancer pathophysiology and the critical role nurses play in patient education, symptom management, and supportive care.
