A free health check-up camp was organized at Mareguddi village on Friday, August 1, 2025, by BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, in collaboration with Shri B.M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Vijayapura. Approximately 200 villagers availed themselves of the free health check-up services during the camp.

The camp was inaugurated by Prof. S.H. Lagali, Administrative Officer of BLDE Association, Jamkhandi. In his address, he urged the villagers to make the best use of such free health services and assured that if any serious health issues were detected, patients would be referred to BLDE Hospital for further treatment.

Shri A.M. Shah, President of the College Development Committee, presided over the function. In his speech, he announced that BLDE Association is planning to establish a 100-bedded hospital in Jamkhandi in the near future, aiming to provide quality healthcare and educational services to the rural population.

The dignitaries present on the dais included village elders Mr. M.R. Athani and Mr. Basappa Barikayi, along with doctors Dr. Avinash Jugati, Dr. Snehal Patil, Dr. Vainavi, and Dr. Sogaravavi from Mareguddi.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, Principal, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi. Ms. Usha Kaveri led the prayer. The event was compered by Mr. Srinivas Kattimani, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. I.S. Nyamagouda.

The camp provided a wide range of free health check-up services to the residents of Mareguddi village. Nursing students and medical staff from BLDEA'S College of Nursing and Shri B.M. Patil Medical College, Vijayapura, together conducted health screenings including general physical examination, blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose testing, and free medicine distribution.

Villagers were registered at the camp desk and systematically attended to at multiple consultation stations. The collaborative team ensured that approximately 200 villagers received quality health services free of cost. Patients identified with serious conditions were advised to visit BLDE Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The camp was made possible by the dedicated participation of nursing students, faculty, and medical professionals of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, and Shri B.M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Vijayapura. The initiative demonstrated the institution's commitment to community health service and extending quality healthcare to rural and underserved populations.
