On September 4, 2024, on the occasion of National Eye Donation Week, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, organized a Free Eye Screening Camp for students and faculty members in collaboration with M.M. Joshi Eye Institute, Jamkhandi. The camp was held at the college Seminar Hall and was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Dr. Deepa Udagatti, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Anterior Segment & Phaco-Refractive Surgeon at M.M. Joshi Eye Institute, along with Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli, Principal of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi.

Dr. Deepa Udagatti and her team from M.M. Joshi Eye Institute conducted free eye screenings for both students and faculty members using G-Matronix K30+ Auto-Refractometers and clinical examination tools. Multiple screening stations were set up in the Seminar Hall, allowing participants to undergo systematic vision assessment and eye health check-ups.

A total of 96 students and 12 faculty members benefited from the screening, which aimed to raise awareness about eye health and promote the early detection of vision problems. Participants received expert consultations and practical advice on maintaining good eye health.

Each participant received an individual consultation with Dr. Deepa Udagatti and her team, who provided personalized advice on eye care and vision correction. Faculty members and students underwent comprehensive refraction testing, including trial frame assessments, ensuring thorough evaluation of each participant's vision health.

This initiative reflects BLDEA'S College of Nursing's commitment to the overall well-being of its students and staff. The camp was well-received, offering timely intervention and support to those with vision concerns. The camp was coordinated by Mrs. Shivaleela Sarawad, Assistant Professor, under the guidance of Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli, Principal of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi.
