Seminar on Financial Literacy & Cyber Fraud Awareness 2026
BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, successfully organised a Seminar on "Financial Literacy and Cyber Fraud Awareness" on Friday, 10th April 2026, at the Seminar Hall, featuring an engaging and informative session by Mr. Srinath Kulkarni, Security Market Trainer (SEBI), Bangalore.
About the Seminar
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Ankita M. and Ms. Deepa Vibuthi, 3rd Semester students. Ms. Jytho Mareguddi, UG Nursing Tutor, introduced the guest speaker and highlighted the importance of the topic for students and healthcare professionals.
The seminar was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge and awareness. Mr. Srinath Kulkarni then delivered an informative and engaging session covering:
- Importance of financial literacy for individuals and the community
- Basic concepts of saving and investment strategies
- Safe financial practices in everyday life
- Cyber frauds — phishing attacks, OTP scams, and fake investment schemes
- Preventive measures: protecting personal information and verifying online sources
- Using secure platforms and recognising fraudulent communications



Appreciation & Closing Ceremony
The session witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, making it interactive, lively, and thought-provoking. Students engaged with the speaker on real-life scenarios of cyber fraud and investment decisions, making the session highly practical and relevant.
Principal Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli appreciated the speaker's valuable contribution and presented Mr. Srinath Kulkarni with a memento and certificate as a token of appreciation. In his address, the Principal emphasised the need for financial awareness and digital safety in today's era and encouraged students to apply this knowledge in their daily lives and spread awareness in the community.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Ankita.
