On 28th April 2026, the Third-Semester B.Sc. Nursing students of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, visited Jeevan Blood Bank Centre, Jamkhandi, as part of their academic curriculum, gaining valuable practical exposure to blood transfusion services and clinical responsibilities.

Mr. Sumit Jande, Lab Technician, provided comprehensive information on the blood donation process, covering:

• Donor eligibility criteria and screening procedures
• Blood collection, component separation, storage, and preservation
• Safety protocols and legal & ethical aspects of blood banking

Mrs. Rekha Naduvinmani, Lab Technician, demonstrated essential laboratory procedures including:

• Blood grouping and cross-matching to ensure safe transfusion practices
• The vital role of nurses in donor care and monitoring during donation
• Post-donation counselling, necessary precautions, and advice for donors

A total of 38 students participated in the visit, accompanied by Ms. Jyothi Mareguddi, UG Nursing Tutor.

The visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Veerabhadrappa G. Mendagudli, Principal, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi.

The visit provided students with valuable practical exposure and enhanced their understanding of blood transfusion services, safety standards, and professional responsibilities in clinical settings. Overall, it served as a highly informative and enriching learning experience.
