Health Education Programme Conducted for Elderly Residents at Jain Vrudhrashram
As part of the old age home visit on 22nd July 2026, the Seventh Semester B.Sc. Nursing students of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, conducted a Health Education Programme for the residents of Jain Vrudhrashram, Jamkhandi.
Interactive Health Education Session
The health education session was delivered by Ms. Laxmi M., Ms. Sahana, and Ms. Savitha, Seventh Semester B.Sc. Nursing students. They created awareness among the elderly on healthy lifestyle practices, prevention and management of hypertension and diabetes, balanced diet, regular exercise, adequate rest, and proper sleep. The students also encouraged the residents to take their medications regularly and attend periodic health check-ups.


Resident Participation & Feedback
The residents actively participated in the session, clarified their doubts, and appreciated the informative and interactive programme. The health education programme helped improve awareness about maintaining good health and preventing common health problems among the elderly. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Shivaleela Sarawad, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Shashikala Mudhol, UG Nursing Tutor, under the guidance of Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli, Principal, BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi.
