Eye Donation Awareness Rally 2024 | BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi
On the occasion of National Eye Donation Week on September 4, 2024, the students and staff of BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, actively participated in an Eye Donation Awareness Rally in collaboration with M. M. Joshi Eye Institute, Jamkhandi. The rally aimed to raise awareness among the public about the importance of eye donation, with 98 students and faculty members marching from Basava Bhavan to M. M. Joshi Eye Institute.
Inauguration & Flag-Off Ceremony
The event was inaugurated by Smt. Shweta Beedikar, Assistant Commissioner of Jamkhandi; Dr. H. G. Daddi, Cardiologist at Daddi Hospital, Jamkhandi; and Dr. Veerabhadrappa Mendagudli, Principal of BLDEA's College of Nursing, Jamkhandi. The dignitaries formally flagged off the rally at Basava Bhavan, marking the start of the awareness march.
Students carried colorful and informative placards highlighting the importance of eye donation. The rally was conducted in collaboration with M. M. Joshi Eye Institute, Jamkhandi, an organization dedicated to providing eye care services across Karnataka.

The rally proceeded from Basava Bhavan through the streets of Jamkhandi to M. M. Joshi Eye Institute. Along the way, the 98 participants spread crucial messages about eye donation to the public, emphasizing its significance and encouraging the community to pledge their eyes.
Students and faculty wore awareness headbands and carried placards with impactful messages about eye donation. The march drew the attention of residents and passers-by, successfully reaching out to the broader community about this noble cause.
The event was a great success in raising awareness and encouraging the community to take part in the noble cause of eye donation. The collaboration between BLDEA'S College of Nursing, Jamkhandi, and M. M. Joshi Eye Institute exemplifies the institution's commitment to community health outreach and public health education.
